The Department of Sciences and Humanities was established in 2002. It offers different foundational courses in across various disciplines like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, Communication Skills and Management for the first year students of B. Tech Programme.
The department offers quality education in teaching, learning and evaluation processes. It is supported with state-of-the art infrastructure and learning resources. The technologically-advanced laboratories and workshops, student-centric teaching methods, and blended learning platforms help students carry out their academic pursuit with ease.
Research activities like workshops, seminars, publications, invited lectures etc are carried out by the department regularly for the benefit of both the students and faculty members.
The department also provides a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular platforms to the students with the aim of moulding them into better human beings. Various cultural activities and competitions are organised regularly by the department with the support of the management. The students are motivated to participate in programmes organised by the department in order to face and tackle real life situations and problems of the society.
Dr. N. Veeranjaneyulu Naik is an accomplished Associate Professor & Head of the Department of English. He did his Ph.D. in English Language Teaching (ELT) from Andhra University, demonstrating his strong commitment to excellence in English language education and research. He completed his M.A. in English and B.Ed. (English) from Acharya Nagarjuna University and further qualified the prestigious Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP-SET). He has 16+ years of teaching experience in reputed engineering institutions across India and has made significant contributions to English language teaching, communication skills, and professional training for engineering students. He also possesses rich experience in coaching aspirants for various competitive examinations, helping students in strengthening their language proficiency and communication competencies. His research interests include English Language Teaching (ELT), Communication Skills, Soft Skills, Professional Communication, and Language Assessment. He has published nine research papers in reputed international journals, reflecting his dedication to academic research and scholarly excellence. In addition, he has authored three English textbooks for the engineering students and one Grammar book for Competitive Exams. Dr. N. Veeranjaneyulu Naik actively participates in academic activities, curriculum development, faculty development programmes, seminars, workshops, and conferences. His commitment to quality teaching, research, and student-centered learning continues to inspire learners and significantly contributes to the advancement of English language in higher education. He also delivered invited lectures for the professional students in various institutions across India.
